MiniTest 70: Coating thickness measurement in a practical pen format

MiniTest 70 is a lightweight and practical coating thickness measurement gauge in pen format with inbuilt sensors. It comes with several benefits:

  • Precise measurement of coating thickness up to 3mm (F) or 2.5mm (N)
  • A dual sensor automatically identifies the substrate and sets the appropriate measuring procedure: eddy currents or magnet-inductive (excluding model E)
  • Wear-resistant probes for long service
  • Weighs only 80 grams

MiniTest 70 F

With statistics display (number of readings taken, mean values, standard deviation, maximum, minimum).
Suited only for ferromagnetic substrates (e.g. steel).
Measuring range 0 to 3 mm / 118 mils.
Enables 1-point and 2-point calibrations.

MiniTest 70 FN

With statistics display (number of readings taken, mean values, standard deviation, maximum, minimum).
Suited for ferromagnetic substrates (e.g. steel) and also for non-ferromagnetic substrates (non-ferrous metals like aluminium, brass etc.).
Measuring range 0 to 3 mm / 118 mils on steel substrates and 0 to 2.5 mm / 95 mils on non-ferrous metals.
Enables 1-point and 2-point calibrations.

MiniTest 70 B-FN

Suited for ferromagnetic substrates (e.g. steel) and also for non-ferromagnetic substrates (non-ferrous metals like aluminium, brass etc.)
Measuring range 0 to 3 mm / 118 mils on steel substrates and 0 to 2.5 mm / 95 mils on non-ferrous metals.
Enables 1-point calibrations.

MiniTest 70 E-FN

Suited for ferromagnetic substrates (e.g. steel) and also for non-ferromagnetic substrates (non-ferrous metals like aluminium, brass etc.).
Measuring range 0 to 3 mm / 118 mils on steel substrates and 0 to 2.5 mm / 95 mils on non-ferrous metals.

Application

Non destructive measurement of:

  • Non-magnetic coatings like varnishes, enamels, chromium and zinc on ferromagnetic base materials (e.g. steel)
  • Insulating coatings like varnishes and anodic coatings on non-ferrous metals (e.g. aluminium, copper, austenitic stainless steel, brass)
Measuring principles
  • Magnetic induction (F-type sensors) according to DIN EN ESO 2808, method 7C
  • Eddy current (N-type sensors) according to DIN EN ESO 2808, method 7D
Features
  • Accurate coating measurement of up to 3mm (F range) and 2.5 mm (N range)
  • Dual sensor for automatic substrate identification and setting the suitable measuring principle: eddy currents or magnetic induction (not in model F)
  • Wear-resistant probes with long service life
  • lightweight: 80 grams / 2.8 oz only
Supply schedule
  • MiniTest 70 device with integrated sensor
  • Operating instructions
  • 1 AA cell, type LR06
  • Zero reference plate(s)
  • Control standard
  • Belt pouch
